Assignment: The creation of a hand-printed, historically correct, transportation related serigraph to serve as a gift and promotion for the American Public Transit Association 1991 Rapid Transit Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

Car #953 was chosen, it represented an earlier era in Oakland public transportation history. Fifty five streetcars (#900-954) were built for the San Francisco-Oakland Terminal Railway by the American Car Company in 1923. The car depicted (#953) in front of the Grand Lake Theater, an Oakland landmark, is typical of the 900 series cars as they appeared late in life just after World War II.

The serigraph was composed and hand printed by the artist using 24 colors on a 100% cotton fiber paper with oil-base ink. Image size 18" x 24", sheet size 20" x 26. An edition of 200 copies with 5 artist proofs was issued. Each print came with its own Certificate of Authenticity completed by the artist.

The print was well received by the client and the recipients, and because of its success it was repeated a few years later with a different image. There were over 600 requests for the prints, but because there were only 200 copies the distribution had to be solved by lottery.

Temple University School of Pharmacy
Philadelphia, PA

Assignment: The creation of a series of hand-printed serigraphs to serve both as a celebration of the ongoing relationship between the University and its supporters and as a means of recognizing corporate and individual benefactors.

Old Morgan Pharmacy and Sullivan Hall were chosen as the first two prints. They were issued one year apart. The serigraph was composed and hand printed by the artist using 26 colors on a 100% cotton fiber paper with oil-base ink. Image size 18" x 24", sheet size 20" x 26. An edition of 200 copies with 5 artist proofs was issued. Each print comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity completed by the artist.

The prints were well received by the alumni, individual and corporate benefactors, and the University was extremely satisfied with the end results.
